DAI Europe is a leading contractor of land projects throughout the world. Included in this is the design and implementation of multiple projects for the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) in sub-Saharan Africa.
The overall objective of the project is "to strengthen participatory transboundary river basin planning, management and development for improved water and food security in the Nile Equatorial Lakes region (Kenya-Tanzania, Burundi-Rwanda-Tanzania-Uganda)"
Wetlands perform a great number of socio-economic and ecological functions. Nonetheless, only few wetlands are under effective protection in Panama. UNDP envisages an array of measures designed to manage protected mangroves and other wetlands over an area of 13,800 ha. The measures are to be monitored and assessed with regard to their carbon dynamics.
