General

The project, which builds on a first phase, aims to improve food and water security and the income levels of 22,300 rural poor households in the governorates of Karak, Tafila and Ma'an. This will be met by promoting community development and through the efficient use and improved management of soil and water resources. On land and natural resource governance, the project intends to provide support for the formation of WUAs, participatory land use planning and the use of a GIS. Activities will enhance the enabling policy, regulatory and incentive frameworks that govern natural resource use, promote integrated land use planning and mainstream sustainable land management (SLM).
