The scope of this Act is to regulate the granting of permissions by livestock holders to emit ammoniac into the environment. A system of calculation of emission is introduced. Whether a permission to keep livestock or to increase an existing production and thus emit (more) ammoniac is granted or not, depends upon the location of the proposed livestock production. No permission shall be granted in ecologically fragile areas, e.g. areas that from part of a main ecosystem and are declared as such under legislation of a prior date or are declared to be such in accordance with section 2.

The scope of this Act is to regulate reindeer breeding activities and the use of reindeer pastures. Also the counting of reindeer and marking of animals is provided for (Chapters 3 and 4). Chapter 6 concerns the compensation of damages to forests and cultivation. Chapter 7 provides for the protection of reindeers. Various measures placing restrictions on reindeer breeding may be decided upon by the Government pursuant to section 2 of the Act relative to Protection Forests (No. 196/22).

This Act, consisting of three sections and completed by three Schedules, concerns the application of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 and establishes that the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 does not apply to any place that is on land described in Part 1 of Schedule 1, Part 1 of Schedule 2, or Part 1 of Schedule 3, or to any object situated on or under any of that land. The reference in subsection to the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 includes a reference to any condition imposed or other thing done under that Act before the commencement of this Act.

This Act provides the legislative basis for the reform of the Northern Ireland planning system. This Directive lays down rules on integrated prevention and control of pollution arising from industrial activities, particularly those referred to in Chapters II to VI (which include combustion plants, waste incineration plants and installations and activities using organic solvents as well as installations producing titanium dioxide). It sets out provisions to prevent or reduce emissions into air, water and land and to prevent the generation of waste, in order to achieve a high level of protection of the environment.
