Ancient Monuments Preservation Act, 2002 (No. 11 of 2002).

This Act makes provision with respect to the protection and conservation of ancient monuments and related matters such as the acquisition of land by the Government for purposes of this Act. The Minister may, by notice in the Gazette, declare any monument or antiquity to be a protected monument or antiquity within the meaning of this Act and shall establish an Authority to manage and supervise the ancient moments or antiquity. Land shall be aquired for a public purpose within the meaning of the Land Acquisition Act.

La presente Ley tiene por objeto establecer los mecanismos para retribuir a los núcleos agrarios y pequeños productores del Suelo de Conservación (correspondiente a la clasificación establecida en la Ley de Desarrollo Urbano del Distrito Federal) por la protección, conservación o ampliación de los servicios ambientales que brindan a todos los habitantes del Distrito Federal, así como para la realización de actividades productivas vinculadas al desarrollo rural, equitativo y sustentable, acordes con la Ley Ambiental y el Programa General de Ordenamiento Ecológico del Distrito Federal.

This Ordinance establishes the Council for Physical Development and provides rules for town and country planning and development in general in Aruba. The Minister shall prepare a Physical Development Plan, which contains general indications of proposed development. The Plan shall be adopted by State Decree. Directives based on the Plan may determine which development activities may be carried out only with an authorization of the Minister. Such activities may include the mining, the felling of trees, afforestation and cultivation of land and the establishment of waste reception facilities.

This law establishes that the territory of the state enological enterprise “Combinatul de Vinuri de Calitate “Mileştii Mici” considered cultural and landscape complex of national significance shall be attributed status of the object of national cultural heritage. The purpose of the attribution of such status shall be its conservation for the present and future generations. The enterprise stores and preserves information on traditional enological practices. The area within the boundaries of enological enterprise shall have the status of protected area.

This Decree-Law, composed of 49 articles and five Annexes, introduces in the national legal system EC Council and Parliament Directive No. 2000/76/CE. This Decree-Law rules on waste incineration with the aim of preventing or reducing its negative effects over environment, especially the pollution caused by air, soil and water emissions as well as for reducing risks for human health. Such regime applies to all legislation in force regarding waste management, environment, air quality, water quality, health and safety at workplace.

This Act provides for coastal zone management in Jamaica and declares all rights in and over the foreshore of Jamaica and the floor of the sea to be vested in the Crown (sect. 3). Any person who is the owner or occupier of any land adjoining any part of the foreshore and any member of his family and any private guest of his shall be entitled to use that part of the foreshore adjoining his land for private domestic purposes, that is to say, for bathing, fishing, and other like forms of recreation and as a means of access to the sea for such purposes (sect. 4).
