Sabemos que o apoio dos doadores à tutela florestal dos Povos Indígenas e comunidades locais (IPLC) tem sido um tópico importante de debate e tem sido trazido para a vanguarda neste último ano. O Grupo de Fundadores da Posse Florestal liderou o Compromisso de Posse Florestal dos IPLCs, que é um compromisso para mobilizar um maior e mais eficaz apoio de doadores para as comunidades florestais. Sendo um grupo de 22 doadores prevalecentes no espaço, como estão eles a cumprir estas promessas. No centro deste diálogo, os participantes discutirão a necessidade de um maior financiamento para os direitos e gestão da terra e da floresta do IPLC e de tornar esse financiamento mais adequado ao objectivo de reflectir as cosmovisões do IPLC.

In 2022 we remain in the midst of a once-in-a-century pandemic, increasingly violent weather events connected to the changing climate, and global security tensions due to war and conflict. Indigenous Peoples and local communities (IPLCs) are among the most vulnerable and are both directly and indirectly hard-hit by these events.
Indigenous and local leaders from Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Brazil discussed how recent global events have put more pressure on natural resources in their territories, affecting their lives and relationship with land.
