A expansão das fronteiras agrícolas aumenta as taxas de desmatamento, agrava os processos de degradação do solo e põe em risco a biodiversidade.

Lancée le 18 mai 2012, la Nouvelle Alliance pour la sécurité alimentaire et la nutrition (NASAN) est une initiative du G8 (maintenant devenu G7) lancée par le président des États-Unis, Barack Obama. La NASAN vise à accroître la part de l’investissement privé dans l’agriculture africaine de façon à « réaliser une croissance agricole soutenue et inclusive ainsi qu’à sortir 50 millions de personnes de la pauvreté au cours des dix prochaines années ». Au total, 10 pays africains ont adhéré à la NASAN.
