Tla’amin Final Agreement.

This comprehensive Agreement between Canada, British Columbia and the Tla’amin Nation is a Treaty and a Land Claims Agreement within the meaning of sections 25 and 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982. The Agreement exhaustively sets out the rights of Tla’amin First Nation, their attributes, the geographic extent of those rights, and the limitations to those rights to which the Parties have agreed.

Il s’agit d’un programme sectorielle d’une portée nationale qui vise à établir le secteur comme le premier pilier de la croissance et de la réduction de la pauvreté dans le pays.

The present Délįnę Final Self-Government Agreement (FSGA) provides for a combined Aboriginal government with a public government, as well as merging the municipal government and the band council to form a new government structure that will be called the Délįnę Got’įnę Government (DGG). This government is characterized as an "inclusive Aboriginal government" that represents all Délįnę beneficiaries. Beneficiaries in the Sahtu Dene and Métis Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement chose to divide the Sahtu Settlement Area into three districts.

The present Agreement is made between Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada, as represented by the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, and Her Majesty the Queen in Right of the Province of Manitoba, as represented by the Minister of Northern Affairs, and the Split Lake Cree First Nation, as represented by Chief and Council, and the Manitoba Hydro-Electric Board.

The present Act approves the enclosed Memorandum of Agreement of 24 March 1924 between the Government of the Dominion of Canada and the Government of the Province of Ontario. Section 1 establishes that all Indian Reserves in the Province of Ontario shall be administered by the Dominion of Canada for the benefit of the band or bands of Indians. Section 5 lays down provisions dealing with mining claims on behalf of bands of Indians.

This Decree sets out the competences of each member of the Government. The Minister of Agriculture is in charge of agricultural policy, food-chain control, food industry, forestry, land management, fishery, cadastre, environmentel protection, nature conservation, mapping and game and wildlife management. The Minister of National Development is responsible for mining activities, energy policy, transport and communication, and public water supply. The Minister of Foreign Affaires and Trade is responsible for international development cooperation.
