This document is the final report for the Turkish pilot site of the component of the project "Maximize the production of goods and services of Mediterranean forest ecosystems in the context of global changes". It contributes to the production of data and development of tools to support decision and management of vulnerable Mediterranean forest ecosystems affected by climate change and the ability of these forest ecosystems to adapt to global change.
This report takes place within the framework of the regional project “Maximize the production of goods and services of Mediterranean forest ecosystems in the context of global changes” (2012-2016) financed by the French Global Environment Facility together with the German Cooperation (GIZ), the French Ministry of Agriculture, Agrifood and Forestry, and the European Union, in 5 North African (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia) and the Middle East countries (Lebanon, Turkey).

La Evaluacin de los recursos forestales mundiales 2000 (ERF 2000) ha concluido, pero ya han empezado los trabajos para la prxima evaluacin mundial. La consulta de expertos sobre Evaluaciones de recursos forestales mundiales - Conjuncin de esfuerzos nacionales e internacionales, conocida como Kotka IV, reuni a expertos internacionales en julio de 2002 para considerar ideas y estrategias para el futuro. Los artculos de este nmero de Unasylva son adaptaciones para un pblico ms amplio de documentos preparados para la reunin.

Dans de nombreuses régions du monde, la quantité d’eau potable et sa qualité sont menacées par la surexploitation, le mauvais usage et la pollution. Il est nécessaire à cet égard d’accorder une haute priorité aux relations entre les forêts et l’eau. Les bassins versants boisés fournissent un pourcentage important de toute l’eau utilisée à des fins domestiques, agricoles, industrielles et écologiques, dans les zones situées tant en amont qu’en aval.

These guidelines are the result a consultative process that involved a large number of practitioners from both developed and developing countries. Two meetings were held in Glasgow and Delhi and a tentative outline was agreed upon. The guidelines are intended to provide a reference framework for decision makers and planners to adequately plan, design and manage the forest and trees in and around their cities.
