Climate-migration nexus has been attracting increasing scholarly attention in the last decades. The various manifestations of climate change including extreme events that are expected to get more frequent and more intense, and slow-onset changes that increasingly affect livelihoods in a context of international climate coordination failure add fuel to the fire.
Nine Latin American countries plan to use silvopastoral practices—incorporating trees into grazing lands—to mitigate climate change. However, the cumulative potential of scaling up silvopastoral systems at national levels is not well quantified. Here, we combined previously published tree cover data based on 250 m resolution MODIS satellite remote sensing imagery for 2000–2017 with ecofloristic zone carbon stock estimates to calculate historical and potential future tree biomass carbon storage in Colombian grasslands.
A farmer-inclusive value chain development approach is a powerful formula for developing sustainable market linkages in the Pacific. We need to apply new thinking to modernising and sustaining agri-food systems as the impacts of climate change, unpredictability in global trade, migration and conflicts threaten progress towards the goals of zero hunger and end to poverty and malnutrition. Innovation in all aspects of the agrifood system, from production to processing, financing and marketing as well as in how producers organise themselves to address these challenges is critical.
As the effects of climate change are severely straining West African agricultural systems, the adoption of more incisive interventions in support of sustainable development agendas for the region is highly critical and cannot be further delayed by governments. Neglected and underutilized species (NUS) are one important ally in pursuing resilience in both production and food systems because of their promising traits in terms of nutrition, adaptation to local agroecosystems, and economic potential for local populations.
The biodiverse, predominantly crop-livestock mixed-farming in India is key to ensuring resilience to climate change and sustainability of smallholder farming agroecologies. Farmers traditionally grow diverse crops as polyculture, and agriculture is mainly organic/biodynamic with spirituality in food systems deeply ingrained.
This paper reviews the current state of policies and frameworks on climate change, agriculture, food, and nutrition security in Kenya. Integrating climate change in policies and frameworks on agriculture, food and nutrition security is important for providing and strengthening the enabling environment for building farmers resilience and adaptive capacity. Similarly, climate change policies and frameworks need to integrate agriculture, food and nutrition security.
Nepal is a vulnerable country to the impacts of climate change. The adverse effects of climate change have decreased agricultural production and productivity. Therefore, technologies and strategies to develop resilience agriculture and increased agriculture productivity are urgently needed to create climate-smart technologies and help the existing technologies to adapt to climate change.

Herein we identify climate change- related vulnerabilities, hazards, and opportunities for adaptation to the same. Ultimately, our goal is to foster awareness of risks and adaptation priorities in the selected value chains and inform climate investments and planning through the recommendations on priority innovations to manage climate risks.

It focuses on food security and national development goals and, where possible, it also aims to reduce or remove GHG emissions. The Climate-Smart Villages employ participatory methods, technological and institutional options for dealing with climate change in agriculture.
