Le Cirad et la plateforme pastorale du Tchad organisent une conférence internationale “Agriculture, Pastoralisme et Aires Protégées : tensions et solutions pour l’avenir des territoires ruraux en Afrique Centrale et au Sahel”. Cette dernière sur lieu les 2 et 3 octobre 2024 à N’Djamena.

La Conférence a pour objectif de :

Solano is a municipality located in the department of Caquetá within the deforestation arc of the Colombian Amazon, the second largest municipality in area of the country. Solano can only be reached by river, although there are already several trails that allow to reach the municipal’s capital by car at certain times of the year.

This paper aligns current thinking on transboundary climate risk pathways with research on climate risk for pastoralists in African rangelands. Four pathways for transboundary transmission of climate risk were used as a framework for a narrative review of research literature on pastoralism and climate change. Selected cases were presented to highlight conclusions and recommendations.

Pastoralist tenure systems are highly complex. Where customary institutions are functioning well, pastoralist women access and use resources as a member of a pastoralist group. Although policy and legislation call for more equity across societies, providing individual titles to women is not necessarily the answer.
