La presente Ley tiene por objeto establecer la normativa para la administración y gestión de las vías pecuarias de la Comunidad Autónoma de Castilla-La Mancha, en el marco de la Ley de Vías Pecuarias, y de conformidad con lo dispuesto en el Estatuto de Autonomía de la Comunidad Autónoma. Las vías pecuarias, son las rutas o itinerarios por donde discurre o ha venido discurriendo tradicionalmente el tránsito ganadero.

This Regional Law establishes basic rights of indigenous peoples as regards local self-government, customary and traditional rights in the sphere of hunting and nature management, and conservation of traditional living environment thereof. Traditional living environment of indigenous populations shall be considered traditionally inhabited areas by indigenous populations and areas of traditional nature management thereof.

This Regional Law establishes the modalities of organization of the territories of traditional management of indigenous small-number populations of the North, legal status of nature management and is directed at the solution of economic, social, ecological and demographic problems for ensuring conservation of the traditional way of life of indigenous peoples. Areas of traditional management of indigenous peoples shall be classified as protected areas.

Section 4 of the principal Act is amended in subsection (1) by adding "or for the benefit of the native Fijians". Section 19a concerns allotment of extinct mataqali lands. A copy of the Order by the Board under section 19(1) allotting or otherwise dealing with land vested in the Board under that section must be sent by the Board to the Native Land Commission which must register the allotment or dealing in the Register of Native Lands kept by the Commission.

Amendments relative to the allotment of all extinct mataqali land in accordance with the provisions of the Native Land Trust (Amendment) Act. “Native land" now means land which is neither State (formerly Crown) land nor the subject of a State (formerly Crown) grant nor native grant but includes: (a) all vacant land including such land declared under section 19; (b) all land set aside by proclamation under section 18 of the Native Land Trust Act; and (c) all extinct mataqali land vested in the Board under section 19 of the Native Land Trust Act;".

This Chapter concerns the procedures for the application for a permit “to excavate, fill or borrow” tidelands, defines traditional and customary rights of the people of the Chuuk State in respect of tidelands and the granting of (ownership) rights in respect of such land by the State to people of Chuuk. Tidelands within the meaning of the Chuuk Constitution are those marine lands from the shore to the face of the reef that are shallow enough for traditional fishing activity by women.

This Act empowers the Minister to, upon request of the Council for an Aboriginal Reserve, declare the reserve to be an Islander Reserve to which this Act applies (sect. 5). Section 6 provides for the Declaration of Aboriginal Councils or Island Councils for the purposes of this Act. The Council for an Aboriginal Reserve to which this Act applies, or for an Islander Reserve to which this Act applies, shall manage and control the affairs of the Aboriginal community or the Islander community, as the case may be, residing on the Reserve (sect. 7).
