La presente Ley tiene por objeto establecer los mecanismos para retribuir a los núcleos agrarios y pequeños productores del Suelo de Conservación (correspondiente a la clasificación establecida en la Ley de Desarrollo Urbano del Distrito Federal) por la protección, conservación o ampliación de los servicios ambientales que brindan a todos los habitantes del Distrito Federal, así como para la realización de actividades productivas vinculadas al desarrollo rural, equitativo y sustentable, acordes con la Ley Ambiental y el Programa General de Ordenamiento Ecológico del Distrito Federal.

This Sub-Decree determines criteria, procedures, mechanisms and institutional arrangements for initiating and granting new economic land concessions.Economic land concessions may be granted only on land that has been registered and classified as state private land, that has adopted a land use plan, that has completed an environmental and social impact assessment, etc.

The rural areas of the South have undergone vital socio-economic and technological changes marked by globalisation, economic liberalization and political decentralization and by the information and communication sector. Will these changes suffice to improve the living standards of the rural population and lessen the urban-rural gap or will the rural sector remain in isolation and be also in ten years time home of the poor?

Few aspects of development policy are better furnished with empirical evidence than the interplay between support for agriculture in the context of rural development and the reduction of poverty and hunger. It is therefore surprising that German Development Cooperation has today largely disengaged from activities in this area: Despite the evidence that practically nothing is more effective and sustainable than combating poverty where it is most often found, namely in the rural areas of poor countries,we fail to take that route.

Until 1978, the Afghan state was weak but stable. In contrast, rural regulatory structures that complemented the state have always been strong. It was only the attempt to establish a strong state on the basis of foreign ideologies and military over the heads of the rural population that ultimately led to chaos and collapse.Whereas the central state sometimes broke down, many state

La presente Ley tiene como objetivo general promover y garantizar los derechos económicos, sociales, políticos y culturales de las mujeres rurales, para alcanzar su empoderamiento y desarrollo. Se entiende por mujer rural a la mujer cuyos medios de vida e ingresos están directa o indirectamente relacionados con la agricultura, la ganadería, artesanía u otra actividad productiva que se desarrolle en el ámbito rural y que se encuentre en situación de vulnerabilidad social, económica y cultural.

The Great Green Wall for the Sahara and Sahel Initiative - National Strategic Action Plan is a national sectoral action plan of Nigeria. It applies to the period of 2012-2017. Its main goal is improving the well-being of the affected people and reducing their vulnerability to climate change through improved use of land and other natural resources for sustainable development and support to climate resilient infrastructure.The Action Plan, among others, treats the issue of food security. In this area, it provides for improvement of the management of land resources and their sustainable use.
