Un resumen de experiencias prometedoras en materia de vivienda adecuada y asentamientos humanos en América Latina y el Caribe. Dichas experiencias fueron seleccionadas por medio de un Comité Calificador, compuesto por representantes de las instituciones organizadoras del Foro Latinoamericano y del Caribe de Vivienda Adecuada, a partir de más de 70 concursantes.

Over the past 15 years, tens of millions of hectares of land have been acquired by large investors in developing countries. The Land Matrix documented 1,037 transnational land deals covering 37,842,371 hectares during this period, while many more deals remain undocumented.1 This global land rush is causing widespread forced evictions and denial of access to key land and natural resources for millions of women, small- scale food producers, pastoralists, gatherers, forest dwellers, fisherfolk, and tribal and indigenous peoples.

"Myanmar’s agricultural sector has for long suffered due to multiplicity of laws and regulations, deficient and degraded infrastructure, poor policies and planning, a chronic lack of credit, and an absence of tenure security for cultivators. These woes negate Myanmar’s bountiful natural endowments and immense agricultural potential, pushing its rural populace towards dire poverty.

This publication contains the major highlights of the Land Watch Asia's "Regional Workshop on Land Monitoring Initiatives: Towards an Accountable Governance on Land" held in Manila, Philippines on 21-22 April 2015. These include the land monitoring country reports (in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, and Philippines) prepared by Land Watch Asia campaign using the Land Reform Monitoring Framework, which was its landmark contribution towards assessing land issues across the region.

Esta guía rescata las enseñanzas de la Escuela de Mujeres Líderes en Tenencia Segura del Proyecto "Mejorando el acceso a tierras urbanas y el derecho a la propiedad para mujeres y familias excluidas en Bolivia", liderado por Hábitat para la Humanidad (HPH), y que fue ejecutado entre 2010 y 2015.

Le projet de barrage de Fomi se situe sur le Niandan, affluent du Niger en Haute-Guinée, non loin de Kankan. Le projet Fomi est intégré au Plan d’action de développement durable (PADD) de l’Autorité du Bassin du Niger (ABN) depuis 2007. Une étude d’impact environnemental et social, composée d’un plan de gestion environnementale et sociale, d’un plan de réinstallation involontaire et d’un plan de développement local, a été finalisée en 2010.

The Fomi dam project is located on the Niandan tributary of the Niger in Guinea, 30 km upstream of the Niandan-Niger confluence, near Kankan (region of Upper Guinea). In development since 1988 with an update of the feasibility study in 1999, the Fomi project is integrated in the Sustainable Development Action Plan (SDAP) of the Niger Basin Authority (NBA) since 2007. An Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, consisting of an Environmental and Social Management Plan, Involuntary Resettlement Plan and a Local Development Plan, was completed in 2010.

Land is fundamental to the lives of poor rural people. It is a source of food, shelter, income and social identity. Secure access to land reduces vulnerability to hunger and poverty. But for many of the world’s poor rural people in developing countries, access is becoming more tenuous than ever.
