This economy profile for Doing Business 2016 presents the 11 Doing Business indicators for Ukraine. To allow for useful comparison, the profile also provides data for other selected economies (comparator economies) for each indicator. Doing Business 2016 is the 13th edition in a series of annual reports measuring the regulations that enhance business activity and those that constrain it. Economies are ranked on their ease of doing business; for 2015 Ukraine ranks 83.

This policy brief is divided into three parts: research findings, policy analysis, and recommendations. Daily political and social processes determine what Kenya and Kenyans are becoming. The place where this becoming started was with colonial conquest and the resistance to conquest. The government needs to build institutions that nurture the direct participation in governance of the country by grass roots Kenyans, as well as by addressing the land question in order to reduce biases that reify ethnic identities and violence.

The Commission for Gender Equality presented on its proposed campaign called One Woman, One Hectare of Land’. The campaign aims to mainstream gender equality, for it was proposed that the State should allocate one hectare of land, for the growing of food, to the poorest rural female-run households. It was believed that this would help alleviate poverty and empower rural women. It was pointed out that where women had land, their families generally were better nourished, better educated and able to move on.

This Decree-Law, consisting of 14 articles, amends the Sinai Development Law, by extending the period of land use from 30 to 50 years and boost the maximum period up to 75 rather than 50 years. In addition, the amendment states exemptions — to be granted by a presidential decree — for the required percentage of Egyptian shareholders in companies holding lands in Sinai. These exempted companies must undertake not to change the structure of their shareholders until the end of the project.
