Report on Functioning of PESA in Odisha

RCDC assigned a task of compiling a report on the functioning of PESA in the state of Odisha based both on secondary analysis and primary survey at field level, to a local consultant organization National Institute for Development Innovation(NIDI) in late 2010. Agreeing with our observation that the report submitted under the same required further improvements and enrichments the consultant made fresh efforts in 2011 and submitted an improved version of the same without any extra charges.

A través de un análisis histórico documental se reconocen los efectos del impacto humano en el territorio insular de Aysén, entre los siglos XVI y XIX. Los resultados obtenidos permiten reconstruir un proceso de intervención ambiental que alcanzó su peak en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, marcado por una notoria degradación de los ecosistemas locales debido a la caza comercial de pinnipedos y la tala maderera del ciprés de las Guaitecas.

The Agroforestry for Livelihoods of Smallholder farmers in Northwestern Viet Nam project (2011-2016) focuses on agroforestry trials on farms in the northwestern mountainous region of the country. The objective of the study was to make an inventory of the current upland farming systems and identify key strengths and weaknesses of each system, including economic efficiency. The farming system diagnosis was based on participatory assessments and focus group discussions and in- depth interviews with 45 project ‘farmer co-operators’ in 17 villages in Yen Bai, Son La and Dien Bien provinces.
