The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

The main goal of this Strategy is to reduce preventable damage caused by natural and technological disasters, so as to improve the lives of the citizens and the welfare of the Republic of Tajikistan. The main Goal will be achieved by meeting the challenges stipulated under the five components of the Strategy. These Strategies are as follows: Component 1: Institutional Mandates and Legal Issues. The Goal is the establishment of a regulatory and legal framework for effective disaster risk management.

This Law regulates relations concerning ownership, land tenure, and disposal of agricultural land, establishing plenary powers of regional administration and local government in the sphere of turnover of agricultural land. It establishes terms and conditions for allotment of plots of agricultural land pertaining to state and municipal property. Agricultural land shall be used exclusively for agricultural production.

The purpose of this Law is to specify the institutional system in the field of geospatial information, incorporating the conditions for the preparation, use, exchange and maintenance of geospatial information (including geodetic and cartographic basic data) in order to create an infrastructure for geospatial information in the Republic of Latvia. The Law shall be applied to all natural persons and legal persons, the functions, tasks and activities of which are related to the circulation of geospatial information and joint use and re-use of such information.
