The present Act approves, gives effect to and declares valid certain agreements between the Grand Council of the Crees (of Quebec), the Northern Quebec Inuit Association, the Government of Quebec la Société d’énergie de la Baie James, la Société de développement de la Baie James, la Commission hydro-électrique de Québec and the Government of Canada and certain other related agreements to which the Government of Canada is a party. For the purpose of the present Act. For the purpose of the Act “Territory” has the meaning assigned to that word by subsection 1.16 of the Agreement.

This Act amends the Strata Titles Act with respect to, among other things: redefinition of strata plan; registration of a strata plan to subdivide building into lots and common property; resubdivision of lots of a registered strata plan; compensation to lessors in case of sale of rural lots; and powers of proprietors to create and register a strata plan of resubdivision in respect of common property.

The present Law lays down provisions concerning land use planning, protection of the environment and building regulations. The Canton shall issue guidelines for land use planning and local authorities shall issue guidelines for its application. They shall also ensure the application of all legislation dealing with the environment. Article 40 deals with the conservation, care and configuration of landscape, nature protection regions, and cultural heritage.

Act to promote the reform of the cadastre in Québec (R.S.Q., c. R-3.1).

The present Act lays down provisions relating to the reform of the cadastre in Québec. The cadastre of a territory shall be renewed by identifying each unit of the parcelling out of the territory on a plan and, where required, by changing cadastral designations, including the numbering. The Minister of Natural Resources, Wildlife and Parks shall prepare a cadastral renewal plan for a territory when he is of opinion that the parcelling out of the territory or the changes made to that parcelling out require it.

This Act shall facilitate the subdivision of land into strata and the collective sale of property, and provide for the issuance of subsidiary strata certificates of title. Tenant's Rights Act (Cap. 235).

This Act makes provision with respect to security of tenure. It provides for the protection of tenants by defining their rights and by allowing statutory tenants to register with the Registrar of Tenants' Rights appointed under this Act. The Registrar may require the Government to compulsory acquire premises under the Lands Acquisition Act for purposes of protection of rights of an applicant for registration. The Registrar may apply to the Registrar General for the subdivision of any land where the Minister certifies that the subdivision is desirable to give effect to this Act.
