This study documents women’s aspirations in relation to land in Kibaale district, Uganda. The study was designed to identify the gaps between those aspirations and the current reality, the actions required for their achievement, and the implications of those actions. Based on qualitative methods of data collection and analysis, information was gathered from 60 women belonging to the two villages, Nyanacumu and Kanywamiyaga, in the sub-county of Muhorro in Kibaale district. Researchers used appreciative inquiry, participant observation, narratives, focus groups, photos and video recording.
Global Gathering of Women Pastoralists: Summary Report and Action Plan
The Global Gathering of Women Pastoralists, held from 21-26 November 2010 in Mera (Gujarat), India, brought together over 100 women from herding communities scattered across 32 different countries to discuss the myriad problems faced by nomadic and semi-nomadic women pastoralists worldwide, and how, united, they can strive to solve them.

Esta publicación reúne diez ponencias presentadas en el Seminario Internacional "Mujer Rural: Cambios y Persistencias", que se desarrolló los días 2 y 3 de diciembre de 2010 en la ciudad de Lima, con la participación de expertos y expertas de México,Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Uruguay, Chile y Perú. Asimismo, contó con la asistencia derepresentantes de organizaciones rurales y agrarias de mujeres de distintas regiones del Perú y deespecialistas de instituciones públicas y privadas.
Social impacts of land commercialization in Zambia
Macha Mission in Choma District of Southern Province, Zambia was founded by the Brethren in Christ (BIC) Church in 1906 and granted title deeds to 3,003 hectares of land by the British colonial authority of the time. Since then the Mission has built a church, a hospital (which today includes a pioneering malaria clinic), two schools, and houses for its workers. A large market has grown up near the hospital, serving local workers and hospital visitors.
