The Decree makes provisions for the extension of peat land to one million hectares in the Province/First-Level Region of Central Kalimantan. The formulation of development programmes is entrusted to a Team for Peat Land Development. The technical implementation of said programmes shall be carried out by government agencies according to the legislation in force.

The scope of this Act is to give more autonomy to the Cadastre and Public Registers Department. Article 2 provides for the establishment of Cadastre and Public Registers Agency which shall be responsible for the keeping and administration of Public Registers pursuant to provisions of the Cadastre Act. Chapter 2 makes provision for the Board and the Supervisory Board of the Agency. The Board is vested with the management of the Agency (art. 7). The Supervisory Board shall supervise the Board's management and the general course of affairs in the organization of the Agency.

Surveyors (Registration and Administration) (Amendment) Regulations 1996.

Regulation 7 of the Surveyors (Registration and Administration) Regulations 1989 is amended by inserting, after sub-regulation (2), a new sub-regulation (3) as follows: "(3) In any survey where land for different purposes is surveyed together, the fee shall be charged in accordance with the Table appropriate for each purpose".

The Regulations apply to enquiries conducted by the Surveyors Board, as per section 16 of the Surveyors Ordinance of 1960. They regulate the procedure to be followed before the Board (among other matters, filing of complaint, submission by the complaiant of the statement of facts, dismissal of complaint, representation by advocate or surveyor, preliminary objection, right of cross-examination, decision on the enquiry, etc.). The Regulations are followed by one Schedule, containing a model form of the notice to appear in disciplinary enquiry.

The Ordinance is divided into the following Parts: Preliminary (I); Country Lands (II); Town Lands (III); Native Lands (IV); Registration (V); Part VI has been repealed; Collection of Land Revenue (VII); Demarcation and Survey (VIII); Trespasses and Penalties (IX).The entire property in and control of State land or land reserved for a public purpose is vested in the Government. The Regulation is made under the Land Proclamation No. 58/1994. It sets out the procedure for the allocation and administration of land and applies to all types of urban and rural land. Land shall be allocated for tiesa, agricultural usufruct or leasehold, on the basis of a master plan. To ensure these rights, right holders shall be given an allocation certificate or lease agreement. To prevent allocation of land to holders with the sole aim of holding land idle, the size of land to be allocated shall be proportionate to the planned aim (art. 3(4)).

Proclamation to Provide for the Registration of Land and Other Immovable Property (No. 95/1997).

This Proclamation makes provision for the registration of land and other immovable property. It provides for the establishment of a Cadastral Office, for the registration of all land, rights over land and duties that emanate from such rights, and the transfer of property through sales, donation, succession or other manner. The registration system shall use the application forms and certificate pursuant to Legal Notice No. 31/1997. On the basis of the abovementioned documentation, the Cadastral Office shall keep a map or plan that clearly shows parcel features and boundaries.
