The present Act provides for the Reconciliation, Settlement and Benefits Agreement between the Province and the Musqueam Indian Band. Furthermore, the Act vests ownership of some parcels of land from Pacific Spirit Regional Park to the Musqueam and addresses a number of other features, such as land-use terms, covenants, and zoning to allow for residential multi-family development on one of the parcels.

The purpose of this Act, consisting of 135 sections, divided into three Parts and completed by four Schedules, is: to record in English and te reo Māori the acknowledgements and apology given by the Crown to Hineuru in the deed of settlement; and to give effect to certain provisions of the deed of settlement that settles the historical claims of Hineuru.

The Land Code is amended by inserting new sections dealing with many aspects related to land tenure, such as: concepts related to Land Code; Land Commissions and officer in charge of the Land Office administrative and legal proceedings; Land purchasing requirements (owned by purchaser as nominee on behalf of another person); prescribed fees presented to the Land Officer; a Land Officer's caveat shall continue in force until it is cancelled by the Land Officer: (a) of his own motion; or (b) on an application in that behalf by the registered owner of the land or any other person having a regi

Article 4 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Maximum agricultural land area that can be in ownership or in land tenure with the application of other land rights of citizens performing family farming shall be 2,5 ha”.

La presente Resolución adopta la Guía Procedimental y de Parámetros Técnicos para la determinación de Bienes Equivalentes y cálculo de la Unidad Agrícola Familiar Predial, para materializar las órdenes judiciales proferidas a los segundos ocupantes.

This Act concerns control of holding of interests in land in Montserrat by foreigners, i.e. persons other than a person belonging to Montserrat (as defined in section 2(2)(b) of the Immigration Act). Subject to the provisions of this Act, neither land in Montserrat nor a mortgage on land in Montserrat shall, be held by a person not belonging to Montserrat, and any land or mortgage so held shall be forfeited to Her Majesty.

Article 7 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Article 7. Management, use and disposal of state land by trust.

The scope of this Law shall be to prevent speculation in agricultural land and preserve traditional forms of farming; to create conditions for the formation of rational land holdings and land consolidation; and to promote the rational use of agricultural land. It shall not be applicable to agricultural land of subsistence farming, land used for horticulture and gardening, and inherited land and land owned by the way of restoration of legal rights of ownership.

This Regional Law regulates the issues of allotment free of charge to citizens in ownership of land plots pertaining to state and municipal property. The aforesaid allotment shall be performed once only to citizens that had in actual use, before entry into force of the Land Code, the aforesaid land plots for the purpose individual residential housing construction, smallholding and gardening without legal registration of land rights in due course. This Regional Law classifies categories of citizens having the right to land allotment.

This Decree declares that the right to undertake a real property intervention (encroachment) as foreseen in section 2 of the Act relative to the expropriation of real property may be assigned to anybody.
