The purpose of this Regulation is to prohibit the export of sand, soil and top soil (including humus) in order to avoid environmental damage as a result of uncontrollable mining of these types of soil.
The purpose of this Regulation is to prevent the illegal export of excavated materials category C by conducting verification or technical examination into the export of these materials before the loading of the goods. Verification or technical examination shall be preformed by a surveyor who shall have specific qualifications. Excavated materials category C are listed in the attachment to this Regulation.

These Regulations amend the Landfill Tax Regulations 1996 in provisions concerning credit operations regarding landfill operations that are favourable to the environment. Among other things, they change the maximum credit that landfill site operators may claim against their annual landfill tax liability and simplify some of the conditions of operation placed on environmental bodies and the regulatory body. Environmental bodies shall have certain duties of notification towards the regulatory body, whereas the regulatory body shall be controlled by the Commissioners of Customs and Excise.
These Regulations amend the Common Agricultural Policy Single Payment Scheme (Set-aside) (Wales) Regulations 2005 in relation to the good agricultural and environmental conditions that apply to land set aside under the Single Payment Scheme for farmers enacted by force of Community legislation. The conditions and exemptions concern green cover, the setting aside of land for the control of weeds, use of pesticides and grazing.

This Regulation implements the Coastal Protection Act 1979 by preventing any person (including a public authority) to carry out development on land within such part of the coastal zone as is not within a local government area, and as is not subject to an environmental planning instrument within the meaning of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

The purpose of this Regulation is to provide measures to prevent the risk of contamination from hazardous substances in the soil, at sea and in watercourses, as well as air pollution caused by noise and emissions of hazardous substances by implementing regular inspections with the aim to ensure that environmental quality and standards are maintained.
These Regulations carry into effect in Ireland Directive 2001/81/EC by specifying national emission ceilings for sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds and ammonia to be achieved by 2010. The Regulations provide for the preparation of a national strategy by the Environmental Protection Agency with the aim of complying with the ceilings and the preparation and reporting of annual national emission inventories and projections.
