The need for affirmative action and the mainstreaming of the commons community plus a comprehensive strategy to secure indigenous and community land has become a major global concern of the 21st century. To achieve this will require out of the box reform mechanisms and the participation of the communities concerned, such that the reforms recognize and embrace indigenous systems and structures that offer avenues to secure collective rights, land use and management of commons resources; namely pastures, water and forests among others.

In pastoral societies women face many challenges. Some describe these as a ‘double burden’ – that is, as pastoralists and as women. However, pastoral women may obtain a significant degree of protection from customary law even if customary institutions are male-dominated. In periods of change (economic, social, political), this protection may be lost, and without protection from statutory laws, women are in danger of “falling between two stools” (Adoko and Levine 2009).

This study looks into the implementation of Brunei’s Master Plan proposal for compact strategy of developments within the designated Urban Footprint zone. Although the Master Plan lacks regulatory support, this study found that private housing developments have been mainly concentrated within the Urban Footprint zone and a more compact urban form through infill and higher density developments is being realized. This may be due to government administrative processes, housing trend and market demand.

This Law regulates social relations related to rational management of pastures and is aimed at improvement the state and infrastructure thereof with a view of prevention of degradation of pastures. Pastures shall be classified as arid pastures, rotation (high-productive) pastures and seasonal pastures destined for seasonal grazing and transhumance. Legal status of pastures shall be determined in accordance with appurtenance thereof.

Uitgangspunt is een zogeheten gebiedsgerichte benadering. Het groepsrisico wordt veroorzaakt door de aanwezige gevaarlijke stoffen in een gebied, zoals bij bedrijven en tijdens het transport ervan. De nieuwe benadering maakt het groepsrisico op een kaart inzichtelijk. In de oorspronkelijke, wetenschappelijke weergave in een grafiek ontbreekt dit overzicht.

The Punjab Land Records Authority Act 2017 (Act VI of 2017).

This Law, consisting of 33 sections divided into seven Chapters, establishes the Punjab Land Records Authority to reform and modernize the system of land records, to improve the land records service delivery; to contribute to long lasting tenure security; and, to deal with ancillary matters. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Authority, entitled to: acquire and hold property, (both movable and immovable) establish regional offices at such other place or places in the Punjab as it deems appropriate.

These Regulations amend the Infrastructure Planning (Compulsory Acquisition) Regulations 2010. Regulation 3 is substituted and an new regulation (3A) inserted. Regulation 3 prescribes the form of a compulsory acquisition notice, a prescribed statement and information for purposes of section 134 of the Planning Act 2008. Regulation 3A requires the Secretary of State to review the operation and effect of regulation 3 (and the associated forms) in the 2010 Regulations.

The County Government Act, 2012 obligates county governments to prepare and implement County Integrated Development Plans (CIDP).
