The present Act defines how resource development shall be managed in Nunavut. In particular, the Act: 1) establishes in legislation the continuation of the Nunavut Planning Commission (NPC) and Nunavut Impact Review Board (NIRB) and clearly defines their powers, duties and functions, including how their commissioners/board members are appointed. It also clearly defines the roles and authorities of Inuit, and the federal and territorial government; 2) creates a "single window" approach to the review process.

These Regulations amend, in relation to England, regulation 3A of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Regulations 1990 which refers to applications for listed building or conservation area consent to replace an extant consent granted on or before 1 October 2009 where the works have not yet begun and the consent applied for is needed to carry out development subject to an extension application to which article 18 of the own and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order 2010 refers.

La présente loi modifie l’article 68 de la loi n° 2008-43 du 20 août 2008 pour déterminer l’Autorité chargée de délivrer l’autorisation de construire obligatoire qui est imposée aux services publics et concessionnaires de services publics de l’Etat. Pour l’Etat, les services publics, les concessionnaires de services publics et les projets d’utilité publique, cette autorisation administrative obigatoire est accordée par le Ministre chargé de l’Urbanisme. A cet effet, les maires et les présidents de Conseil rural concernés sont informés.

This Act establishes the Agricultural and Rural Development Authority under section 3 as a body corporate. The operations of the Authority shall, subject to this Act, be controlled by a Board constituted under section 5. For the better exercise of its functions and powers the Board may establish one or more committees (sect. 12).

These Regulations make provision in connection with the preparation of strategic development plans and local development plans under Part 2 of the Town and Country (Scotland) Act 1997. National Park authorities shall be involved in planning where the land to which the plan relates adjoins a National Park. Some provisions concern an environmental report prepared in connection with a proposed plan.

The Regulation lays down the criteria and the rules of procedure for the implementation of the instruments of territory planning and development. It consists of two main parts covering General Provisions (1), and Territory Development (2). The Territory Development sets forth provisions on documents and procedures required for the assessment of territory development, application and issuance of construction permits, buildings uses, development of detailed local plans, and preparation of criteria and instruments for the territory development.

These Measures are formulated in accordance with the Land Administration Law, the Regulations on Implementation of the Land Administration Law and the Decision of the State Council on Deepening the Reform and Rigidly Enforcing Land Administration, aiming at guaranteeing the implementation of the overall planning on land utilization, bringing into full play the macro-control function of land supply and controlling the total volume of the land used for construction.

An Act to provide for matters relating to land within urban areas or urban communities declared by Order of the Minister in accordance with sections 2 and 3. The leases on land situated within urban communities are transferable freely between natural persons and/or bodies corporate subject to the following provisions: (a) all applications for the transfer of leases shall continue to be submitted to the Ministry of Lands for approval with copies given to the custom owners or their legal representative, or to the Municipality in the case of public land.

The present Regulations are made under the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000. For the purpose of the Regulations «development» is defined very broadly and the definition includes the carrying out of any building, engineering, mining or other operations in, on, over or under land, or the making of any material change in the use or the intensity of use of any land, buildings or premises. In particular, the Regulations set out standards for land-use zones for Newfoundland in general and the City of St. John's in particular.
