National Academic Research and Collaborations Information System (NARCIS) is the main Dutch national portal for those looking for information about researchers and their work. NARCIS aggregates data from around 30 institutional repositories. Besides researchers, NARCIS is also used by students, journalists and people working in educational and government institutions as well as the business sector.
NARCIS provides access to scientific information, including (open access) publications from the repositories of all the Dutch universities, KNAW, NWO and a number of research institutes, datasets from some data archives as well as descriptions of research projects, researchers and research institutes.
This means that NARCIS cannot be used as an entry point to access complete overviews of publications of researchers (yet). However, there are more institutions that make all their scientific publications accessible via NARCIS. By doing so, it will become possible to create much more complete publication lists of researchers.
In 2004, the development of NARCIS started as a cooperation project of KNAW Research Information, NWO, VSNU and METIS, as part of the development of services within the DARE programme of SURFfoundation. This project resulted in the NARCIS portal, in which the DAREnet service was incorporated in January 2007. NARCIS has been part of DANS since 2011.
DANS - Data Archiving and Networked Services - is the Netherlands Institute for permanent access to digital research resources. DANS encourages researchers to make their digital research data and related outputs Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable.

Veel Nederlanders voelen zich betrokken bij natuur en landschap. Zij zetten zich in voor het natuurbehoud door donaties of vrijwilligerswerk. De overheid stimuleert de betrokkenheid van burgers en het huidige kabinet benadrukt de behoefte aan bevlogen mensen die verantwoordelijkheid nemen voor het landschap. Maar wat als deze bevlogen mensen het niet eens zijn met het overheidsbeleid? De betrokkenheid bij natuur en landschap kan zich net zo goed tegen de overheid keren.
Toekomst Veenweide : klimaatadaptatie & maaivelddaling methode en toepassing in Midden-Delfland. Inspiratieboek
Het project ‘Toekomst Veenweide’ biedt inzicht in de mogelijkheden voor een klimaatadaptieve inrichting van veenweidegebieden. Het Inspiratieboek, wat nu voor u ligt, geeft kort en bondig oplossingen weer. De ontwikkelde methodiek dient als voorbeeld en inspiratie voor alle veenweidegebieden in West- en Noord-Nederland. Het Inspiratieboek is een uitnodigende samenvatting van het gehele onderzoeksproject. Er is aandacht voor losse bouwstenen, beoogde adaptaties en samenwerkingen, gevolgd door een gebiedsgerichte aanpak in Midden-Delfland.
Reflexivity in performative science shop projects
Science shop research projects offer possibilities for universities to engage with communities. Many science shop projects directly or indirectly intend to empower certain marginalised groups or interests within a decision-making process. In this article we argue that it is important to reflect on the role and position the researchers have in these projects. We present three science shop projects to illustrate some of the dilemmas that may arise in relation to citizen empowerment, democracy, and ethics in the field of action research and community engagement.
Een verkenning van groen en boer zijn in en om de stad
Stadslandbouw en groen in de stad staan onder grote maatschappelijke belangstelling. Stadslandbouw en groen worden niet meer gezien als exclusief voor het platteland. De stad wil om verschillende redenen ook een rol krijgen. Het borrelt aan ideeën en initiatieven. Zoals vaak gebruikelijk bij een nieuwe ontwikkeling, is er nog weinig coherentie, de beweging is nog fragiel. Dit brengt overheden, lokaal en landelijk in beweging. Hoe moeten we omgaan met stadslandbouw? Waar kunnen we het verder faciliteren? Wat moeten wij regelen? Is datgene wat we al doen voldoende?
Jaarrapportage 2011 : WOT-04-009 Natuur, Landschap en Platteland (NLP)
In 2011 is de Uitvoeringovereenkomst WOT Natuur & Milieu vernieuwd. Hierin zijn de voorwaarden vastgelegd, die het Ministerie van Economische zaken en de stichting DLO medio 2011 zijn overeengekomen voor de uitvoering van deze wettelijke onderzoekstaken tot en met 2016. Dit werkdocument bevat de jaarresultaten van het WOT thema WOT-04-009 (Natuur, Landschap en Platteland). Voor elk project binnen dit thema zijn de administratieve gegevens te vinden en wordt een beknopte inhoudelijke beschrijving gegeven van het doel en het behaalde resultaat.
