National Academic Research and Collaborations Information System (NARCIS) is the main Dutch national portal for those looking for information about researchers and their work. NARCIS aggregates data from around 30 institutional repositories. Besides researchers, NARCIS is also used by students, journalists and people working in educational and government institutions as well as the business sector.
NARCIS provides access to scientific information, including (open access) publications from the repositories of all the Dutch universities, KNAW, NWO and a number of research institutes, datasets from some data archives as well as descriptions of research projects, researchers and research institutes.
This means that NARCIS cannot be used as an entry point to access complete overviews of publications of researchers (yet). However, there are more institutions that make all their scientific publications accessible via NARCIS. By doing so, it will become possible to create much more complete publication lists of researchers.
In 2004, the development of NARCIS started as a cooperation project of KNAW Research Information, NWO, VSNU and METIS, as part of the development of services within the DARE programme of SURFfoundation. This project resulted in the NARCIS portal, in which the DAREnet service was incorporated in January 2007. NARCIS has been part of DANS since 2011.
DANS - Data Archiving and Networked Services - is the Netherlands Institute for permanent access to digital research resources. DANS encourages researchers to make their digital research data and related outputs Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable.

The demand for agricultural products (food, feed, fibre, and biomass for other purposes) produced in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) will increase for the coming decades. In addition, the global climate change will largely impact on the agricultural sector in Sub-Saharan Africa. Major challenges for the agricultural sector in SSA are that agricultural production systems depend on resources that are for a large part non-renewable, and that the current agricultural practices in SSA are major contributors to environmental degradation.
Drijfveren, sociaal kapitaal en strategie van collectieve burgeracties tegen grote landschappelijke ingrepen
In dit onderzoek worden de drijfveren, het sociaal kapitaal en de strategie van vier actiegroepen beschreven die in verweer zijn gekomen tegen grootschalige ingrepen in het landschap: Red ons bos, Werkgroep Zwartendijk, Bewonersvereniging Horstermeerpolder en Actiecomité Horstermeerpolder. Uit interviews met de actievoerders blijkt dat hun identificatie met het landschap en hun ideologie over natuur belangrijke drijfveren zijn. Uit deze drijfveren volgt een boosheid die de uiteindelijke ‘trigger’ is om in verzet te komen.

Het Werkboek geeft een generiek stappenplan voor het identificeren van opgaven, maatregelen en strategieën voor polders. Er wordt hiertoe aanvullende informatie, een checklist en achtergronden aangereikt. Het project ‘Toekomst Veenweide’ is gericht op polders uit het Landschaps Ontwikkelingsperspectief (LOP) Midden-Delfland. De meeste polders hebben een landelijk karakter
Heikikkers in Meerstad : toepassing van het model LARCH op de heikikker (Rana arvalis) in het project Meerstad als onderbouwing voor een duurzame instandhouding van deze soort
Ten oosten van de stad Groningen wordt het gebied Meerstad ontwikkeld voor 6500 woningen in het concept ‘wonen op en aan het water’. In het ontwikkelingsgebied komt de beschermde heikikker voor. Bij de ontwikkeling van Meerstad gaat leefgebied van deze soort verloren en het is de vraag of de regionale populatie daardoor duurzaam zal kunnen overleven. Alterra is gevraagd om aan te geven of de populatie heikikkers in Harksteder Broeklanden wel of niet een essentieel onderdeel is van de metapopulatie heikikker in en rond Meerstad.
Jaarrapportage 2011 : WOT-04-009 Natuur, Landschap en Platteland (NLP)
In 2011 is de Uitvoeringovereenkomst WOT Natuur & Milieu vernieuwd. Hierin zijn de voorwaarden vastgelegd, die het Ministerie van Economische zaken en de stichting DLO medio 2011 zijn overeengekomen voor de uitvoering van deze wettelijke onderzoekstaken tot en met 2016. Dit werkdocument bevat de jaarresultaten van het WOT thema WOT-04-009 (Natuur, Landschap en Platteland). Voor elk project binnen dit thema zijn de administratieve gegevens te vinden en wordt een beknopte inhoudelijke beschrijving gegeven van het doel en het behaalde resultaat.
