This Act provides for the protection of areas defined by this Act.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Producer Association shall carry out state control in conformity with the Forest Code.

The Ninth Development Plan is a national plan with a sectoral approach covering the period 2007–2013. The main objectives of the Plan are: a) increasing competitiveness, b) increasing employment, c) strengthening human development and social solidarity, d) ensuring regional development, e) increasing quality and effectiveness in public services. The Plan also aims at protecting the environment and improving urban infrastructure, making agricultural structures more efficient and promoting the development of rural areas.Food security is among the specific objectives of the Plan.

Section 2 declares that all land in Papua New Guinea shall be subject to this Act. Section 4 defines matters primarily of national interest for the purposes of this Act. Where consideration is being given to a physical planning matter under this Act, the appropriate authority shall take into account the provisions of the Environmental Planning Act 1978, the Environmental Contaminants Act 1978, and the Conservation Areas Act 1978 and other matters listed in section 5. The Minister may appoint a Chief Physical Planner for the purposes of this Act pursuant to section 6.

These Regulations, consisting of 31 sections divided into eight Parts, make provision with respect to procedures of the Pastoral Land Board established under section 11 of the Act, legal issues of pastoral leases, monitoring of pastoral land, access to pastoral land, licences to go onto and take certain things from pastoral land, procedures of appeal with an Appeals Tribunal and miscellaneous matters.

The purpose of these Regulations is to strengthen the protection and management of forest land, rationally develop and utilize forest resources, promote sustainable economic and social development. This Order makes transitional and savings provisions in connection amendments made by the Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006 to the Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006 in relation with a tree preservation order and a planning agreement entered into under section 75 of the 2006 Act before 1 February 2011.

The Philippine Rural Development Program (PRDP) is a six-year national government development platform with a multi-sectoral approach. It aims at contributing towards achieving an inclusive, value-chain oriented, and climate resilient agriculture and fisheries sector.

The burning of vegetation in the area specified in the Schedule is prohibited in the fire hazard period. Exceptions to this prohibition include owners for the purpose of harvesting sugarcane, and authorized persons.
