Хамтын ажиллагааны хөтөлбөрийн хүрээ (ХАХХ) нь Монгол Улсын Засгийн газар болон НҮБ-ын Хүнс, Хөдөө аж ахуйн байгууллагын хооронд 2012-2016 онд стратегийн хамтын ажиллагааг хөгжүүлэх хүрээг тогтоох хамтарсан баримт бичиг юм. Хүнс, хөдөө аж ахуйн яам ба Байгаль орчин, ногоон хөгжлийн яамны саналыг үндэслэн боловсруулсан ХАХХ-т Монгол улсын Засгийн газраас хөдөө аж ахуй, загас, ой, байгалийн нөөцийн талаар баримтлах үндэсний хөгжлийн бодлогын зорилтыг хэрэгжүүлэхэд ХХААБ-аас дэмжлэг туслалцаа үзүүлэх тэргүүлэх чиглэл, үйл ажиллагааг тодорхойлсон.

The Country Programming Framework (CPF) for Mongolia 2012-2016 is the joint framework for strategic cooperation between the Government of Mongolia (GoM) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Mongolia.

The Country Programming Framework (CPF) is formulated to sharpen the focus and define the priorities for the next five years. It will be used as a road map and a medium term framework for programming collaboration between FAO and the GoM.

This issue of Nature & Faune aims at highlighting the complexity of the interface between forest and agriculture in Africa. It strives to unfold the realities of managing the physical and economic zones where forests meet farms in Africa.

The Country Programming Framework for Thailand has the overall objective of providing a strategic guideline for future work programmes to be implemented by Royal Thai Government and FAO in close partnership with other UN agencies and development partners. The CPF has been formulated through a number of meetings and consultations with Thai government ministries and departments, United Nations organizations, development partners, civil society organizations, non-government organizations and the private sector.

FAO-Adapt consolidates FAO’s multidisciplinary expertise on climate change adaptation. Through this Organization-wide framework, FAO provides countries with best practices, key principles and priority themes on which member nations can focus adaptation efforts in agriculture and food security. Since launching FAO-Adapt in June 2011, the Organization has: developed and implemented new, adaptation-focused projects and programmes; and enhanced FAO’s own capacity to deliver adaptation support to member countries.

Our region is food insecure and a net importer of foods. It produces much less food than it requires due to many factors, such as limited arable land and shortage of water resources, and below world average agricultural productivity in many cases. In addition, the region suffers from excessive food losses and wastes. FAO estimated recently that food losses and waste in the world amounts to about 1.3 billion metric tons, and we estimate that our region’s share of these losses and wastes is very significant.

Following the ban in logging of natural forests in 1989, Thailand instituted a number of measures to promote private sector involvement in forest plantations. Small farmholders were encouraged to invest in forest plantations, especially by raising long rotation indigenous timber species. While the programme achieved much enthusiasm at the start, only about 40 percent of the planned 1.2 million hectares were planted despite the provision of various incentives.
