The Constitution of Kenya provides that every citizen has the right to property. The provision ensures that an individual or group of people that acquire land have the protection to own this property if acquired lawfully. Individuals living in informal settlements then have a right to have property when acquired through proper means. Even though there are processes in progress to address the issue of securing tenure rights in informal settlements by the government.

Launched on 18 May 2012, the New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition (NAFSN) is a G8 (now G7) initiative spearheaded by former US President Barack Obama. The New Alliance aims to increase private investment in African agriculture as a means to “achieve sustained and inclusive agricultural growth and raise 50 million people out of poverty over the next 10 years.” In total, 10 African countries have signed on to the NAFSN.

The effectiveness of the use of land in an intensive agricultural rotation is influenced by a number of factors. Of great practical interest is the study of production potential of agricultural lands of agricultural organizations, the establishment of its impact on production results in crop breeding at the regional (oblast) level, where production and economic relations are closely tied. The results of such research will optimize agricultural land usage and improve specialization of agricultural production.

The NGO Forum on Cambodia, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Fisheries, organized a national consultation workshop on 19-20 December 2016 on the sixth version of the draft Cambodian Agricultural Land Law. In addition to inputs from various stakeholders at the workshop, a legal review was conducted with the assistance of Mr. George Cooper, an independent senior legal expert experienced in land policies.

This paper attempts to understand the thoughts of the farmers and other residents in the Minamiyama area of Inagi at the respective time, taking into consideration the long history of development planning, changes in the use of land, and the land readjustment project that has been underway. Local farmers sold land in Minamiyama, operated real estate businesses, Land readjustment brought about by the City Planning Act helped the farmers.

This study explored local governments' efforts of land use coordination in the disaster affected rural areas of Miyagi, taking Suginoshita district and Yamamoto eastern district as a study area. Major challenges faced by the two districts are two folds. The first is the fact that multiple reconstruction projects have been implemented in parallel in one district, causing the issue of inter-program coordination.
