Les insignes des Nations Unies ont été élaborés en collaboration avec les agences des Nations Unies, la société civile et d’autres organismes. Ils visent à sensibiliser, éduquer et motiver les jeunes à changer leurs comportements pour devenir des agents actifs du changement dans leurs communautés locales. Les insignes peuvent être utilisés par les professeurs pendant leurs classes et par les responsables de groupes de jeunes, surtout Guides et Scouts.

The purpose of the United Nations challenge badges is to raise awareness, educate and, most of all, motivate young people to change their behaviour and be active agents of change in their local communities. Challenge badges are appropriate for use with school classes and youth groups, and are endorsed by WAGGGS and WOSM. They include a wide range of activities and ideas that can easily be adapted by teachers or leaders.

Desarrolladas en colaboración con las agencias de las Naciones Unidas, la sociedad civil y otras organizaciones, las insignias de las Naciones Unidas buscan despertar conciencia, educar y motivar a los jóvenes a cambiar su comportamiento y a ser agentes de cambio activos en sus comunidades locales. The farmers in the Volta river basin, some of the poorest in the world, generally rely on rain-fed agriculture. However, insufficient or irregular rainfall frequently puts farmers at risk of losing their crops. In addition, climate change is making already variable rainfall less reliable.

The risk of losing crops makes farmers reluctant to invest in agriculture and water management. Farmers must have access to a reliable water supply to sustain their livelihoods.
