These Regulations provide for the establishment of Land Allocation Committees in every district authority, every urban authority and at the Ministry responsible for lands. The functions of these Committees shall be to allocate land at various administration levels in accordance with specifications given in regulation 9. The Regulations further provides for the composition of committees, meetings, accountability, etc. An applicant for land allocation aggrieved by a decision of a Committee may lodge an appeal with the District Land and Housing Appeal Tribunal. This Act makes provision for the allocation of rights in land in the areas described in the First Schedule to this Act or in any area which is declared to be communal land under section 16(1)(a) of this Act ("communal land"). The Act consists of 47 sections divided into 5 Chapters.The Minister must establish Communal Land Boards to perform the functions conferred on a Board by this Act within the area for which each Board is established. The Country Investment Plan (Plan) is a roadmap towards investment in agriculture, food security and nutrition in Bangladesh. It is a five-year comprehensive plan with national coverage that aims to ensure sustainable food security which entered into force in 2011. The Plan provides a coherent set of 12 priority investment programmes to improve food security and nutrition in an integrated way divided into three components: 1) food availability, 2) food access, and 3) food utilization.
