La France est depuis longtemps un partenaire fournisseur de ressources actif et généreux, qui oeuvre en liaison étroite avec la FAO pour promouvoir des objectifs communs de sécurité alimentaire et de développement agricole.
Over the past 15 years, FAO assistance to Belize has been delivered through approximately 85 interventions, including a focus on policy advice, advocacy and capacity building as well as emergency assistance and resource mobilization for the food and agriculture sector. More recently, resilience building and expansion of market access have become important features of cooperation.
FAO established a presence in Equatorial Guinea more than 30 years ago with the opening of a country office in Malabo. In June 2013, cooperation was strengthened with the establishment of a Partnership and Liaison Office and the appointment of the first FAO Representative in the country
Thailand became a member of FAO in 1947 and a year later Bangkok was designated the provisional location for the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific – a decision that was formally approved in 1953. FAO has worked continuously with the Royal Thai Government through the Office of the National FAO Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
Qatar joined FAO in 1971. Over the years, FAO assistance has aimed to improve the country’s management and conservation of natural resources, including technological and institutional development to enable sustainable increases in agricultural and fisheries productivity.
The Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe has partnered with FAO since 1975.

The first World Soil Charter (WSC) was conceived and formulated, negotiated and adopted by the FAO member countries in the 1981 FAO Conference. It was a major normative instrument agreed by member states, and that the Global Soil Partnership (GSP) was duty-bound to promote its principles. The challenges faced by the world have become more evident and severe in the intervening three decades.
Since the Bosnia and Herzegovina joined FAO in 1993, the Organization has played an active role in the implementation of national agricultural and rural development plans. Technical assistance has focused on policy advice, capacity building and – more specifically – the inclusion of family farms in high-quality food value chains.
Hace más de tres décadas se abrió la primera oficina en Malabo para atender los temas de la FAO en Guinea Ecuatorial. El 20 de junio de 2013 se estableció oficialmente la Oficina de Enlace y Partenariado y se nombró al primer Representante de la FAO en el país.
Since 1993, FAO has played an active role in supporting Croatia’s national development plans and projects aimed at increasing agricultural productivity and improving the country’s food security.
