Since independence, the Government of Sri Lanka has implemented various policies and initiatives to boost agricultural production. One of the enduring, costly, and politically sensitive measures aimed at promoting paddy farming has been the fertilizer subsidy program which was initiated in 1962 and continued for over six decades. Since then, the subsidy policy has undergone many changes, including the introduction of the Fertilizer Cash Grant (FCG) Program in 2016.

Can the establishment of private property rights to land improve child health and nutrition outcomes? We exploit a natural experiment in the Kyrgyz Republic following the collapse of socialism, whereby the government rapidly liquidated state and collective farms containing 75 percent of agricultural land and distributed it to individuals, providing 99-year transferable use rights. We use household surveys collected before, during, and after the privatization reform and spatial variation in its timing to identify its health and nutrition impacts.

This article engages in a comprehensive examination of the intricate dynamics surrounding urban sprawl and land utilization within the peri-urban regions of significant Algerian municipalities, with a specific focus on the city of Oran. 

Employing a methodology rooted in social geography, this study deploys a trio of investigative approaches: documentary analysis, spatio-temporal scrutiny of peri-urban domains, and in-situ field investigations to shed light on the intricate intricacies of land ownership dynamics in the context of urban sprawl.

Les Perspectives agricoles 2023-2032 sont le fruit de la collaboration entre l’Organisation de coopération et de développement économiques (OCDE) et l’Organisation des Nations Unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture (FAO). Ukraine is poised to transform the process of housing, land and property (HLP)

damage to the country’s HLP. Initial efforts at recovery along with counter-offensives

have stabilized large areas of the country and liberated others, to which displaced

Le rapport régional sur les crises alimentaires au Sahel et en Afrique de l’Ouest présente la mise au jour de la situation d’insécurité alimentaire et nutritionnelle aiguë dans la région en 2023 sur la base des données CH de mars 2023 pour les périodes de mars à mai et de juin à août 2023.  Il examine les principaux facteurs de causalité et facteurs limitants et en explique le niveau de sévérité des crises alimentaires et nutritionnelles.
