Land reserves in the Republic of Kazakhstan shall be divided in accordance with their designated purpose into the following categories: 1) lands of agricultural designation; 2) lands of residential areas (cities, towns, settlements and rural residential areas); 3) lands used for industry, transport, communications, defence and other non-agricultural purposes; 4) lands of specially protected territories, lands of health rehabilitating, recreational, historical and cultural designation; 5) lands of the forest reserve; 6) lands of the forest reserve; 7) lands of the reserve. The Law contains 3 Sections, composed of 14 Chapters that comprehend 99 articles. Section 1 containing Chapters 1 and 2 (arts. 1-14) lays down fundamental provisions. Chapter 1 lays down the general provisions. Chapter 2 establishes the jurisdiction of governmental bodies in the sphere of land relations. Section 2 containing Chapters 3-9 (arts. 15-82) regards right of ownership, right of use and other rights to land. Chapter 3 determines right of ownership to land. Chapter 4 determines the right of land use. Chapter 6 concerns rights and duties of land plot owners and land users. Chapter 7 deals with servitude. Section 3 containing Chapters 10-14 (arts. 83-99) deals with land categories. Chapter 10 regards lands of agricultural designation. Chapter 11 regards land of specially protected territories, lands of health rehabilitating, recreational, historical and cultural designation. Chapter 14 regards lands of the forest reserve.
