This Act consists of 40 sections and is divided into seven Parts: Preliminary; Public surveys; Registration of surveyors; Entry to land for survey purposes; Offences; The Board of Surveying and Spatial Information and Miscellaneous. The Act repeals the Surveyors Act 1929 and related instruments and makes consequential amendments to other Acts. The Act provides for the constitution and functions of the Board of Surveyors and Spatial Information. The Board is responsible for the registration of surveyors, the investigation of surveyors' registration and licensing schemes, the investigation of complaints against registered surveyors and the taking of disciplinary action against registered surveyors.
