This Act establishes the Jamaica Mortgage Bank as a body corporate and provides for its functions and powers and organization.The Bank shall be responsible for the development of the mortgage market and shall operate according to directions given to it by the Minister. The Bank shall also carry out functions of the Jamaica Development Bank in relation to the Mortgage Insurance Act.
