The purpose of the present Law is to safeguard the public interest on the occasion of the transfer of land or parts thereof, taking into account the need to comply with the principles of a sustainable protection of the environment, nature and landscape. The text consists of 40 articles divided into 11 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Acquisition of agricultural or forestry land (II); Authorities and proceedings concerning agricultural and forestry land (III); Acquisition of land by foreigners (IV); Authorities and proceedings concerning acquisition of land by foreigners (V); Common provisions (VI); Auction (VII); Voluntary sale (VIII); Legal action (IX); Conditions, legal constraint and adminstrative charges (X); Penalties, transitional and final provisions (XI).
