This Act provides for the construction, maintenance and management of drainage works.The Act provides for the constitution of drainage districts by the Governor who shall also have the power to specify the boundaries of the district, assign it a name or abolish the district.The Water Corporation shall have the power to: construct and maintain drainage works; authorize branch drains to communicate with any main drain; cleanse, repair or maintain in a due state of efficiency any drainage works or watercourse; etc.The Act further provides for: ratable property; ratable land valuations; rating records; liability for and recovery of rates; offences and penalties; etc.
