Historic and Anthropological Sites Designation Regulation (N.B. Reg. 83-196).

The present Regulation enacts the Historic Sites Protection Act. Section 2 of the above-mentioned Regulation establishes that the lands and buildings described in Schedule “A” are designated as historic and protected sites and the parcel of land described in Schedule “B” is designated as an anthropological and protected site.

This Act provides for the designation of areas to be parts of provincial parks and provides for the management of such parks. The Act covers also the appointment and powers of park wardens, the protection of flora, prospecting and mining and enforcement measures.

Historic Sites Protection Act (R.S.N.B. 1973, c. H-6).

Under this Act, the Minister responsible for the Culture and Sport Secretariat may designate any site, parcel of land, building, or structure of any kind to be an historic or anthropological site. The Act provides for the administration of the areas designated under the Act. The conduct of research in the areas is subject to authorization and related offences and penalties are spelled out.

Crown Grant Restrictions Act (S.N.B. 1983, c. C-37.1).

This Act released the restrictions made on any grant issued by the Crown prior to January 1, 1990. Restrictions may affect clear, cultivate, seat, enclose, dyke, repair or maintain dykes, improve, sow, plant, sow or plant specified crops or drain the land; dig a stone quarry or other mine or cut wood or employ labour in digging any stone quarry or other mine or in the cutting of wood; and keep or put neat cattle on the land.

Topsoil Preservation Act (S.N.B. 1995, c. T-7.1).

This Act prohibits the removal of topsoil from a site or the move of topsoil from a parcel unless with the proper permit. Under section 4, no person shall transport topsoil in, on or by a vehicle on a highway except in accordance with the regulations. The Act provides for inspections, enforcement and offences and penalties.
