Uwemedimo

Michael is Lecturer in Film at University of Roehampton and visiting Senior Research Fellow at King’s College London. Michael was a founding member of the filmmaking collective Vision Machine and producer of Oscar-nominated, BAFTA-winning, The Act of Killing. Michael lives and works in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Michael is a co-founding partner of CMAP.

‘Chicoco’ means mud, the black, fibrous mud that people living in Port Harcourt’s waterfront communities cut from the mangroves and throw down on the river’s edge to reclaim land from the creeks. They build their homes on this mud.
