Amayaa is coordinating the development of communication strategies, and contributing to the data management plans, for the GCRF Trade, Development and Environment Hub (TRADE), as well as the GCRF Development Corridors Partnership (DCP) - two impact and research-oriented projects, funded by UKRI’s Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF). She leads processes with partners from Latin America, Central and Eastern Africa, and Asia (among others), in order to effectively engage diverse audiences with the relevance, achievements, and aspirations of these two projects.
Previous experience & expertise
Amayaa’s experience lies in research and facilitation of engagement at the science-policy interface. She completed the MSc Biodiversity, Conservation and Management at the University of Oxford (UK), followed by a research stint at the Africa Climate and Development Initiative (ACDI) at the University of Cape Town (South Africa), where she worked with a project exploring green infrastructural interventions for climate adaptation in peri-urban informal settlements in Namibia and Tanzania. She also holds a BSc from the University of Colombo (Sri Lanka), and she has experience working on climate policy with a CSO in Sri Lanka.
