The Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe has partnered with FAO since 1975. Recent cooperation has included support to food and agriculture-related policies and legislative frameworks as well as a wide variety of regional and national development projects in areas such as fishery technologies and marketing, governance of tenure, response to soaring food prices, and improved agricultural and livestock production. Support to resource mobilization is another key feature of FAO assistance to the country.

A description of the state India's forestry sector, its developments and future prospects. Major trends in environmental protection, wood production and forest policies are outlined and future forest product supply and demand is estimated.

Land Tenure Working Paper 9. Based on international authoritative documents, this paper draws 14 principles to be taken into account when developing Voluntary Guidelines on Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land and other Natural Resources. The paper sees Voluntary Guidelines as human-rights based documents that provide a framework and a point of reference for national and international policies.

Document technique de la FAO sur les pêches et l'aquaculture 465. Ce document explore les aspects juridiques et économiques de la gestion de chacune des nombreuses catégories de stocks halieutiques partagés. Pour ce faire, il s’appuie largement sur les résultats de la consultation d’experts organisée en octobre 2002 par la Norvège et la FAO sur la gestion des stocks halieutiques partagés et en particulier sur les résultats des nombreuses études de cas présentées au cours de la consultation.

La présente publication «Situation des ressources génétiques forestières du Niger» est issue d’un rapport national présenté à l’Atelier sous-régional FAO/IPGRI/CIRAF sur la conservation, la gestion, l’utilisation durable et la mise en valeur des ressources génétiques forestières de la zone sahélienne (Ouagadougou, 22-24 sept. 1998).

Qatar joined FAO in 1971. Over the years, FAO assistance has aimed to improve the country’s management and conservation of natural resources, including technological and institutional development to enable sustainable increases in agricultural and fisheries productivity. The production of safe and nutritious food, together with support to rural livelihoods have also been key features of cooperation.

Based on the information collected during a survey in the Republic of Guinea, this study concentrates on the country's main NWFPs. Among these are medical plants, tooth picks, cola nuts, shea tree nuts, honey, food plants, palm wine, bushmeat, rattan, bamboo, and wild fruits. Also, past, present and future tendencies are investigated in relation to consumption, commercialisation and export of these products. Furthermore, national legislation surrounding NWFP is analysed as are the potentials and weaknesses of the information gathering process.
