A report based on a study provided by the information gathered amongst local people in Haiti. This study describes the main NWFP (mushrooms, wild fruits as well and products of animal origin) and their means of exploitation. Forest activities and services are also described followed by a discussion of the main constraints related to NWFP. This report also attempts to formulate a vision of how to increase the well being of the forests in Haiti.

Climate change is likely to have adverse effects on the agriculture sector in Jamaica. Increase in the intensity and frequency of climate related natural hazards, increasing rainfall variability, droughts and floods combined with fragile ecosystems and coastal zones all contribute to Jamaica?s overall vulnerability to climate change. Climate change adaptation is one of the outcomes of the Vision 2030 Jamaica-National Development Plan.

This publication is a set of practical guidelines and norms for field project engineers for the design and building of small hydraulic structures using earth and gabions. This publication would be useful in designing small earth dams with a gabion spillway, intake weirs for gravity irrigation schemes, groynes, river bed training works and for protection against hydraulic erosion.
