The objective of the CPF is to identify priority areas for FAO’s support and formulate the implementation plan for the 2012-2016 period. FAO’s priority areas are selected based on Viet Nam’s Socio-Economic Development Strategy (2010-19), strategic development plans of agriculture, forestry and fishery in Viet Nam and the strengths and experience of FAO Viet Nam.

An international journal of forestry and forest industries

This country report covers the overall situation of wood products in the Republic of Congo. Among the topics discussed are those of current statistics available in the country related to exploitation of forest resources, their economic value, their consumption and export. The report also mentions the different institutions involved in collecting information in the country as well as the weaknesses and strengths of the system.

This regional evaluation is based on discussions and outputs of the consultation meeting of Francophone Africa on the Voluntary guidelines on the responsible governance of tenure of land and other natural resources that was held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on 23-25 June 2010. The opinions expressed in this evaluation are those of the participants at the consultation meeting and do not necessarily reflect those of FAO.

FAO is conducting a series of regional and sub-regional workshops as part of the preparatory work for the country reporting to the Global Forest Resources Assessment update 2005 (FRA 2005). These regional workshops respond to requests made by many member countries during the global training session held at FAO Headquarters in Rome in November 2003.

The Land and Water Days are jointly convened by FAO, IFAD and WFP as part of efforts aimed at reaching effective and lasting impacts for land and water actions on the ground.

This is a weighty report of formidable bulk and understandably so. Rarely has a Workshop in Bangladesh or anywhere else been so comprehensive in mandate or assembled such an array of fisheries expertise. Why was the workshop held? Quite simply, to give effect to Bangladesh's vision of fisheries development and management, set forth in its Perspective Development Plan for 1995-2010.
