This Act concerns the land titles in Ontario, it consists of 172 sections and is divided into eleven parts. Part I contains preliminary provisions, i.e. definitions and administration of the Act. Part II covers organization and administration, provisions are grouped under three titles: application of the Act, officers and authority of officers. Part III is dedicated to the jurisdiction of the court and appealing procedures.

These provisions aim at implementing the Land Registration Act, particularly as regards the application for the registration of land or the issue of a certificate of title and application for registration of acquistion by prescription. Article 13 concerns appeals against the decisions of the Registrar; article 14 concerns claims for indemnity. Several schedules, containing the models of the forms of the applications and certificates hereby envisaged, are attached.

“Customary land”, “private land” and “public land” shall bear the same meaning in this Act as in the Land Act. The Minister may apply the provisions of this Act to areas in which, according to the Minister, ascertainment of interests in customary land or the agricultural development of such land require the application of provisions of this Act.

The Act makes provision for various matters relating to customary land, private land and public land and powers of the Minister in respect of such land.The Act consists of 44 sections divided into 8 Parts: Preliminary (I); general (II); Private Land (III); Private land (IV); Customary land (V); User of land (VI); Trespass or encroachment upon, or unlawful occupation of, land (VII); Miscellaneous (VIII).A Corporation may hold land only with a license from the Minister (sect. 3). The Minister may dispose of public and customary land in accordance with section 5.

The Ordinance makes provision for the survey and disposal of crown lands, registration of grants or lease of crown lands and for the protection of crown lands from illegal acts. All power and authority in respect of survey and disposal of crown lands shall be vested in the Governor in Council. The Governor may appoint a Commissioner of Crown Lands under section 3. The Commissioner shall carry out surveys and may take possession or lease crown lands. Every grant or lease of crown lands shall be registered in accordance with section 8.

The Development Control Authority is established under section 3. The Chief Technical Officer in charge of the Town and Country Planning Development shall be the Executive Secretary of the Authority and as such shall be responsible for carrying out its general policy and for general supervision of the activities of the Authority. All development in Saint Lucia requires a prior written permission of the Authority (sect. 7).

The present Law establishes types and rates of registration fees envisaged in accordance with legislation on registration, as well as the modalities and terms of their collection. Ministry of Internal Affairs is authorized to carry out registration of hunting firearms. Ministry of Agriculture is authorized to carry out registration of export and import of agricultural commodities, animal feedstuffs and pesticides. State Department of Land management is authorized to carry out registration of all types of land relations. The Law consists of 9 Articles.
