This Issue of Nature & Faune puts forward the case of “African Youth in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development”. It comprises twenty one articles from authors of various backgrounds, including: policy makers, conservation NGOs; the private sector; civil society groups; research and academia as well as youth groups.

Smallholders are small-scale farmers, pastoralists, forest keepers, fishers who manage areas varying from less than one hectare to 10 hectares. Smallholders are characterized by family-focused motives such as favouring the stability of the farm household system, using mainly family labour for production and using part of the produce for family consumption

الهدف الرئيسي من المبادئ التوجيهية هو مساعدة البلدان والمؤسسات وصانعي السياسات في تنمية وتنفيذ استراتيجية لضمان استدامة قطاع تربية الأحياء المائية وإدماج تربية الأحياء المائية مع القطاعات الأخرى ومساهمتها في التنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية. The Water Challenge Badge - Resource and Activity Guide is designed to support you in educating children and youth about water, the challenges our water resources are facing and the importance of using water fairly and sustainably. The guide contains simple teaching tools to make learning appealing and fun, and provides a selection of activities and exercises to encourage young people to engage in efforts to save water and to promote equitable access to clean water. The guide can be used to achieve the Water Challenge Badge or can be used separately.

Ce numéro de Nature & Faune met le focus sur « La place de la jeunesse africaine dans l’agriculture, les ressources naturelles et le développement rural ». Il compte vingt et un articles contribués par divers auteurs experts dans les secteurs suivants : les politiques, les ONG travaillant dans le domaine de la conservation ; le secteur privé, les groupes de la société civile, la recherche et le milieu universitaire ainsi que les associations de jeunes.
