The National Strategy on Adaptation to Climate Change is a cross-sectoral strategic document adopted by the Ministry of the Environment to respond to the broader goals set out in the adaptation strategy package approved by the European Commission in 2013, with the aim of making Europe better prepared to withstand existing and future climate impacts.

This Order grants powers to the Marine Management Organisation to fix a fee or charge for the monitoring of any activity authorised by a licence granted under section 71(1)(a) or (b) of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. Those fees are set out in Schedule 1. The Order also confers power on the Organisation to charge a fee for determining applications for the variation or transfer of such licences. The fees for variation or transfer are set out in Schedule 2.

This Order allows for the creation of a nationally significant infrastructure project and associated development described in Schedule 1 and a corresponding marine habitat. These Regulations designate a coastal area as a Special Protection Area in accordance with Article 4 of Directive 2009/147/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Conservation of Wild Birds. The purpose is to ensure protection from disturbance, capture and damage to nests and eggs under Article 5 of the Directive for all species of birds, not just the birds listed on Schedule 3 (with the exception of those birds covered under Articles 7 for hunting and 9, where derogations are listed).

These Regulations amend the Beach Control (Licensing) Regulations, 1956 by: replacing the marginal note to regulation concerning manner and form of application and issue of licence; providing for the payment of fees specified in Column 2 of the Second Schedule; providing for the duration and renewal of a licence.

These Regulations, made under the Integrated Coastal Management Act, 2008, concern control of public launch sites as defined by these Regulations. Such sites shall be listed by authority and shall be managed by a management body appointed for such purposes. A management authority in its management plan or integrated management plan shall identify public launch sites within a protected area including those sites which share adjacent common boundaries with a terrestrial protected area.

This Order approves the Emergency Instrument to regulate natural resources uses within the Marine Reserve of Parnaíba River Estuary. This Instrument (in the Annex), consisting of 5 Chapters, specifies prohibited and authorized activities to be performed within the above mentioned area in: land, pollution, fisheries and forestry sectors. it establishes land tenure and land concession requirements, pollution control and quality standards, fishing methods and gears, prohibited mangue tree exploitation, etc.
