Since the Kingdom of Bahrain joined the Organization in 1971, FAO has provided technical support to enhance the food and nutrition security and strengthen the country’s management and conservation of natural resources. Cooperation has included support to the fisheries, livestock and crop production subsectors as well as assistance in the area of food safety; and food and nutrition security

Lesotho joined the Organization in 1966 and has enjoyed close cooperation with FAO since the establishment of the country office in 1983. The main thrust of assistance has been on the formulation and implementation of policies, programmes and projects aimed at improving agricultural output, natural resources management and food and nutrition security.

This report provides an overview of about twenty bioeconomy strategies, at international , national and sub-national levels. It analyses how these strategies have addressed sustainability issues. The report also provides a brief discussion on approaches used to develop bioeconomy strategies.
