This indicator is based on section 16.2 which provides that "States should be sensitive...where the land, fisheries and forests in question are particularly important to the livelihoods of the poor or vulnerable." This indicator asks whether the national laws respect the indigenous right to free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC).
