This Act provides rules for the survey of land in Botswana and makes provision for the appointment of the Director of Surveys and Lands, for the establishment of the Land Surveyors' Board and for the recognition of land surveyors and the control of their activities. The Act consists of 47 sections divided into 8 Parts.The Director of Surveys and Lands shall supervise and control the survey and charting of land for purposes of registration in the Deeds Registry and carry out other tasks imposed on him or her under this Act. The Land Surveyors' Board shall examine potential land surveyors.

These Regulations implement provisions of the Land Survey Act with respect to a variety of matters covered by the Act such as: the power of the Director of Surveys and Lands to test surveys; the actual field work of surveys; the drafting of diagrams; the drafting of general plans of survey and surveys of townships and villages; survey records and costs of survey.

This Act provides for the establishment of Municipal corporations as legal entities with powers to forge partnerships between the Municipal Corporation, residents, businesses and industries for the effective development and governance of Bhutan's urban communities. The Act consists of 9 Parts divided into 126 sections, and of 1 Schedule.In particular, Part III deals with specific functions of the Municipal Corporation including land budgeting, drinking water supply, drainage and sewerage, land development schemes, cadastral surveys, land subdivision, etc. (sect. 49).

These Rules amend the Registered Land Rules in the Third Schedule. The Third Schedule prescribes forms for purposes of the Registered Land Act. Form R.L. 3 is amended by deleting the attestation clause and substituting therefore a new clause. This form concerns the transfer of charge. The Transferor declares the amount of principal and interest owing by the Chargor at the date of transfer.

Le présent décret fixe sa composition et les modalités de son fonctionnement.

The present Law is composed of 12 Sections dealing with: (a) general provisions (Sect. 1); (b) the right of ownership (Sect. 2); (c) purchase and amortization (Sect. 3); (d) lease (Sect. 4); (e) other rights related to immovable property (Sect. 5); (f) expropriation for public needs (Sect. 6); (g) right of use of public immovable property (Sect. 7); (h) land consolidation (Sect. 8); (i) cadastre and land registration (Sect. 9); (j) cessation of the right of ownership and its legal protection (Sect. 10); (k) dispute settlement (Sect. 11); (l) coming into effect of the Law (Sect. 12).

The present Law lays down certain amendments to Law No. 7843 on the registration of immovable property, mainly dealing with the status of the Central Office for Immovable Property Registration. It changes the name of the office into the Office for Immovable Property Registration and provides further changes to the office structure, organization and activities scope.

This Law supplements Law No. 7843 on the registration of immovable property. It is hereby recognized the right of access to the unclassified documents and information. The addenda also deal with the status of the Central Office of the Immovable Property Registration. The Chief Registrar shall be in charge of the organization and management of the Office, shall designate the registrars and assistants and shall approve the organizational structure of the office. The procedures for registration of the transactions with immovable property are amended as well.
