This Order, which extends to the United Kingdom, brings into force certain provisions of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 and contains transitional provisions relating to sections 205 and 206 of the Act.The Act further, among other things, a new system of marine planning and a new system of marine licensing and provides, across most of UK waters, for the designation of new Marine Conservation Zones.

These Regulations amend the Nitrates Action Programme Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 so as to implement Commission Decision 2007/863/EC granting derogation from the limit of livestock manure that can be applied to land each year in Northern Ireland pursuant to Council Directive 91/676/EC concerning the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources. They redefine the conditions in closed periods for the spreading of all manures on a derogated holding.

In respect to Wales, these Regulations provide in relation to those further areas designated as nitrate vulnerable zones by virtue of the Protection of Water Against Agricultural Nitrate Pollution (Amendment) (Wales) Regulations 2002 that the date for the multiplier of 210 kg set down in paragraph 9(2)(b)(i) of the Schedule shall be extended to 19 December 2006. In relation to those areas designated as nitrate vulnerable zones prior to the 2002 Regulations the relevant date remains the 19 December 2002.

Environmental Protection (Restriction on Use of Lead Shot) (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (S.S.I. No. 289 of 2004).

These Regulations prohibit the use of lead shot for shooting with a shot gun on or over wetlands. Regulation 2 contains definitions of terms used. In regulation 3 "wetlands" is described by the Ramsar Convention on wetlands. Regulation 5 sets out powers to enable a constable to ascertain whether an offence has been committed under these Regulations.

The Protection of Water Against Agricultural Nitrate Pollution (Scotland) Regulations 1996 transpose for Scotland the requirements of Council Directive 91/676/EC concerning the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources. The objective of the Directive is to ensure that measures are taken to reduce and prevent nitrate pollution from agricultural sources.

This Proclamation aims at improving management and utilization of land and land resources for agricultural purposes in the Southern Nations, Nationalities And Peoples' Regional State. It applies to all land that lies outside of municipal borders. The Proclamation defines the right to acquire, free of charge, rural land by peasants, pastoralists and semi-pastoralists engaged in agriculture and the equal rights of women with respect to land and provides for the protection of such rights.
